Default head gaskets

Getting ready to hg job, and was wondering other than just doing it, should i do oil pump gear and timing chain while im there
Any symptoms to look for to lead me me to replace or not. Currently cold oil pressure is around 40, after getting to driving temps, it runs around 11-15 at idle
Any suggestions would be great on what else to look for while im in there. Oh yea, im doing hg's because of pretty substantial outbound leak of h2o and oil

IMHO save the front cover work for another day. Warm oil PSI at revved up should also be 40. One job can be done without the other. Your oil PSI may vary if you use 15W40 Shell Rotella, and a different oil filter like the Purolator/Mann jumbo unit. My 97 at 188K makes 44 PSI hot.

Thanks buzz . I was leaning that way. She's drinking rotella with a stock Purolator now. I'll just make it a 2 step project

Take lots of pix. Be sure intake bolts go back in finger tight, use old valley pan gasket to line everything up before torque of head bolts.
