I removed my headliner a year ago. No heat issues. No cold issues. No condensation issues. I live in 60-90% relative humidity year round. Winter temps in the mid 30 to low 30's, summer in the high 60's, low 70's. 13+ feet of precipitation a year. Food for thought.

Oh, and no noticeable increase in noise.

No you did not say that, I was rferring to the statements that it would be hotter in the summer. Maybe I stated that poorly.

Very little additional heat if any comes thru the metal roof. Maybe if it were black and you were in the Sahara or similar. I know a lot of black cars do get extremely hot in the strong sun like we had in Florida.

Mine has been out for six years and I too agree with Chris Bob. Many people would not care for a bare roof, but it does not bother me at all.

I do have a large somewhat surface rusted area in the center of the roof in between the sunroofs. Maybe it leaked badly at one time and was resealed before I got it. Also have one area about 4 inches square right on the front area above the windshield on the doubled up portion that has bad surface rust right at a factory weld seam. Must have been MIG welded, you could see the little metal wire ends still on here. Driversa side right above the steering wheel rusted, pax side same location, zero rust. I think that is unusual.

That silver bubble wrap insulation could be ued if you ive in a hot area and you want to keep the AC running more efficiently.

But wth all the glass area a Disco has, the headliner being out is not going to have much effect on thermal gain or loss.
