K.

Did all of the above as well as found a vacuum hose with a big hole in it. going to replace that... as well as do my head gasket. I have a week of evenings before my life gets too busy to take care of my truck so I am going to do it all at once. will have it stripped down to the block tomorrow, then I will start cleaning and tinkering and trying to decide on how much to replace and how much will last another 50 K before I drop in a 300tdi.

question for the interverse... when doing a head gasket... do you remove the wiring harness completely or do you just work around it... kind of wondering when I should stop... do I remove the little ones on the top of the catalytic converters? what about the ones running back to the pump looking thingy on the back right of the bottom of the block close to the tranny. seems like a big chunk of it goes into the dash, how do i clear it away from the engine? I should probably have a manual, there is not much about it in the Rave, unless I am not looking in the right spot.

The plug wires are not attached to a cap, they are on a little bank, not like a hat, more like a line up of idiots waiting for their trucks to explode.

ideas?

Those are your coils, thats where your spark comes from.

If you had a distributor you would have a cap and rotor.
