Default Help with Bushings

Hello Everyone

I have a 97 Disco and had noticed a clacking noise in the rear of my car while driving. I took a look in the rear and noticed that a bushing was missing just on the driver side. I am not the most mechanical person but I want to know if this is something easy that I could replace myself. It seems that the bushing some how cracked and completely fell out. I also don't know where to find the correct part. I am still learning my way around my Land Rover but I am not exactly sure what part this is? I appreciate any help.

Thanks,
Cameron

That is a sway bar bushing. It's more likely someone removed the sway bar at some point and reinstalled it without the bushing. I removed the sway bar for better articulation off road and lost a bushing on the first trip off road. I couldn't remove the bushing so I thought it would be fine.

The bushing is available at the dealer or from any of the online parts places like Atlantic British (www.roverparts.com).

Ok thanks for the help. How hard is it to replace that bushing, like does it require any special tools? Or is it as simple as unscrewing the bolt and putting a new bushing in?

Most people do take the sway bar off for the improved articulation and just leave it off. That's what I did with mine and I can't tell any degradation driving without it on road.

But I don't do much high speed driving with heavy turns or anything like rally racing.
