I did the full overhaul on my Porsche 944 door mechanisms dismantling and cleaning them then fully lubing with silicone. They work like new. Just do not want to take these apart without knowing weather or not the spring may be broke. IE order the parts first then take it apart.

If you guys are having problems with your doors freezing shut first stop washing your truck when its going to be cold out.
Then you can use a silicon spray and soak a rag and then wipe your door seals with the silicon, it will help keep them from sticking together.

Now to prevent alot of hassle if you follow your Uncle Spikes car care tips alot of these little annoyances can be avoided.
Every 6 months lube every single part of your truck that moves with silicon spray, every key hole, every latch, every hinge...if it moves it gets lubed.
And the door stay on the bottom of the cargo door, use bicycle chain lube.
Do these things more often if you live on a dirt road.

Gotta throw Spike a bone - that is the best advise I have seen on here yet.

Well I spoke too soon. Going to leave work last night, I went to open the door and quite literally just as I went to open it, the doors locked
So I unlocked them and climbed in through the passenger side instead of the window
I parked it in the sun so I will see if that has any effect.

Last winter after my truck sat in the parking lot at work for a month and was buried in a snow drift I went to open the drivers door and I heard a "boing!!!!" and the door would not open.
So I opened the passenger door and started the truck.
20 min later I reached across the passenger seat and opened the door from the inside.
Went to the gas station, got out and shut the door, filled the tank and had to open the door from the passenger side again.
Got it home, parked her for 2 days.
Went out go back to work and door opened, its been fine ever since.
I have no idea what happened other than my truck is like Christine. (she has also broke and magically repaired other things)
