Default Help with inconsistent starting

Hey all, I have a '97 Discovery 1. Have had it many years and love it.
It's always been rock solid mechanically and in all the mud I put it through. Recently, it has not been
starting if I stop for a short time. If I stop for a long time (for instance parked at work all day) it starts
just fine. But if I run into the dry cleaners or the market for 15 minutes, or to get gas.. it will not start
for about half an hour. It turns over, then dies. When getting an oil change last week, they tested
the battery, it was fine. There's no codes throwing either. Before I run it into the mechanic and pay
diagnosis $ I like to Google, ask questions.. but this issue is hard to find.
FYI: had tune up in Oct, and went over all the connections/cables I could yesterday for anything
loose (when it last did this).

Take a look at the wiring to the Crank Position sensor which is to be found on the the engine block on the driver's side where it meets the bell housing of the transmission.

Over time the wiring is roasted by the exhaust / cats. Without a good signal from this sensor the ECU will not allow ignition.

It wouldn't start after work tonight so I had AAA flatbed it to the mechanics. They'll look
at it Monday morning and I'll update here.
Thank you!
