I found one of the major sources of an oil leak on my vehicle- the oil pressure sensor leaks (sprays) oil under acceleration. I ordered a new sensor and got under the vehicle to replace. Got as far as unplugging the sensor, but when I went to unscrew the sensor there is literally no space to do so. I used an adjustable wrench but it kept slipping, and I don’t believe that a deep socket will fit on it because the sensor is up against part of the engine. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
The size of the wrench will depend on the style of Oil Pressure Switch ( STC4104 ) you have.
The Original Style uses a 15/16" & the Newer/aftermarket style uses a 7/8".
One WARNING, remember to install the o ring and crush washer, BUT most important DON'T over torque the oil pressure switch!!!
If you cross thread the switch or over torque it, the threads in the front cover can split. Split as in crack the front cover.
I've seen this happen a few times and it's not good.
