Tom, the TPS can be crossed to a GM part, same same. Which one I don't remember off hand but you can do a search to find it either here or on any LR site. You can check the sweep of your TPS using continuity on your meter. Three pin connection and I don't remember which two are needed but it's not hard to find which two in the Rave's ETM. Your looking for a steady sweep on the meter simply by turning the TPS. Drop-outs on the meter indicate dead spots which are fairly common at the idle/rest position and just off idle. In any case it's wear.

is the tps supposed to have a gasket? I have seen reference to it in some posts, I know my iac has one but do not recall one on the tps

pulled the fuel sender no water in tank, changed fuel filter nasty inside, blew out all fuel vent hoses ( think the ael part of the fuel sender is bad)

we tried swapping the tps and iac no change, pulled the computer and it is fine inside no water got in and does not smell burnt no signs I could see that it fried anywhere, even checked the ckp plug looked fine I am at a loss here, it does look like my rear main seal leaks oil

ug is now displaying 1447, 1508, 0451

Some White Shepherd should help with the seal.

If the used TPS is a number at idle, and that number is steady, that would be the important issue, not if it is 9 or 12, etc. Adaptive values will "learn" the sensor.

White Shepherd is a treatment for rear main seals and such. Put in and drive 3 hours. Swells rubber slightly. Here is a pix of what it can do to a O-ring soaked overnight at full strength. http://www.gobluedevil.com/rearmainsealleak.html - It may have been re-branded by Blue Devil - they make a disgusting coolant stop leak, whcih I would not use. Available at common chain auto parts stores.

But the oil treatment sealer and rear main sealer (more concentrated) are products that have had good results posted about.

OK heard of blue devil think Napa sells it,
so you think the idle will eventually return to normal
Also my batt was dead when I returned from VA so sat about 5 days charged it sat overnight and was almost dead 2 days later, so guess need to recharge and load test maybe need a new batt, ug says output on alt is 13.8 +/-

What exactly does the screw under the lead plug do? Just curious since the dealer screwed it all the way down
Does it reduce airflow to the iacv or stop the iacv from closing all the way?
