I was fortunate to swap an ecm and IACV from same truck and it worked. Many say you have to swap green alarm box at same time. Hopefully yours will be solved by having a tech speak to it with a computer.

I will probly need to do that, so is it just 96-99 disco 1 with 4.0 or is there some other that will work,

in my ongoing search for a fix I had read a post found in a Google search referencing Being able to use a newer ecm,
but newer would mean Bosch right?

I thought Lucas made the GEMS as well... Bosch certainly makes the Motronic used in the D2s.

I think I read that it was a cooperative creation of Lucas and SAGEM.

Stick with advanced evap loss type computers like what you've got, mid 1997-1999. Grab the green alarm box if it is there, just in case.

Here is a short booklet on the various fuel injection models and the sensors used with them, sensors from one model may not work with a different ECU.

Thanks I drove 2 hours to another u pull and found 98 disco 1 , got ecm, green box, vss, maf, intake tube, what looked like a new Plenum with new sensors and cruise diaphragm, CD changer for the one I drowned, set uf Bosch plug wires, set of ignition coils, some misc screws I needed

Had fuel send or but it was rusted like mine so passed, forgot crank sensor

If I do not have enough to fix the problem think I will give up

Good day today, no more high idle swapped out ecm and Plenum with matching sensors attached (tps, iacv) now around 760 rpm +/- , tps 12.2

Hope it lasts, got the green box but did not need it and remote still works

I did run the engine after Plenum swap before ecm swap no change, instant fix with ecm though
