My hood developped a will of its own. It's popping open when a big truck drives by my truck on windy days. After countless tries to adjust it I'm giving up and want to use one of those kits or something similar:

I searched on AB, Roversnorth and a couple of other retailers and didn't find any. Is there anybody on this forum having experience with that kind of kit? How to make sure a particular kit fits on my Rover before buying it?

 

i just searched a half hour for replacement hood latches. i wouldnt of thought such a simple thing would be so hard to find. if thats the problem. if your gonna get hood pins though ive always wanted to grab these:

just called the dealer to see how much my steering box would be but i also asked how much a hood latch would be for a 98 just for hell of it. $43.26

 

The latch is good on my truck. And the little plate at the top is 1 yr old (I bent the old one). I believe my truck was lightly accidented before I got it which causes the hood not to close properly and the wind to catch in.

What I like about hood pins is that you're sure the hood will never pop open while you drive and it gives a camel trophy/off road look to the truck
