hotwire landrover discovery 96
Hi can anyone tell me how to get my 96 v8 landrover discovery started. I have had it for a few years as a farm vehicle. I don't have a remote and the key is so badly worn that it will only lock the doors but can't use it in the ignition. for the last year I Can't unlock the drivers side door so I get in the passenger side with the key and open it from the inside. All worked well for the lst couple of years. ( the steering lock is removed and the electric loop to sense the key is gone. I just start with a screwdriver. Today after coming back from a two month trip ( in another vehicle) the immobiliser light came on. ( the rear door seized up and in getting it open from the inside I must have tripped the immobiliser) I have gone through the web and followed the instructions re installing a spider loopback plug but after removing the dash I find there is alredy one in. I would like to bypass the immobilizer - never mind about the windows etc s they don't work. I found instructions on the forum as follows " to locate the green box in the passenger footwell On the small plug there are two wires that areblack with red/orange stripe.( Solid black and red/orange stripe.) Cut thesetwo wires on the loom side only and twist them together. Leave enough wire incase you have to put them back together again. ( This is an immobilizer fix andnot an alarm fix.)" m I on the right track or will this just have me worse off?? Hope someone can help otherwise it is off to the wreckers cause I am stumped. If you are worried about giving hotwire instructions on a public forum perhaps you could advise me by direct emil
