I paid $100 almost 4 years ago. I picked it up with around 100k miles. I now have a rolling total of $3k into it from everyday driving to bigger repairs and 186k miles on it. It's been crashed into 3 times now. 1 when I bought it first owner didn't want to pay for repairs or storage. That was $500 to fix and put on the road. The other accident were the fault of the other drivers so insurance pay for those repairs. But it built like a tank and just keeps going it not pretty looking with road rash down passenger side and some dents but hey it's a rover

I paid $300 for my 97 Disco with 174K miles on it. The steering was pretty much taken apart, the interior was pretty bad and cracked, two windows didn't roll up, there was a small dent on the passenger door and I had to tow it home because it was on a non-op and hasn't driven in a year. It did start and run to drive onto the trailer though. I got it smogged (california) and driving about $1500 later including new tires. I am now about $4-5k into it cause I have done a complete motor rebuild and a few other things that should be done this weekend.

2002 Disco II. 88,000 Miles. $5,200. VERY clean. No mechanical issues. No dash lights. Pristine interior. Good headliner. Only two small places where clear coat is coming off. Replaced the front drive shaft a couple of months after I bought it, but other than that a very strong truck.

I was at m lawyers house and saw a green suv in the garage and asked what it was, he said a Land Eover Discovery he bought for his wife new in 1998. He said the brakes are locked up and “I will give you 100$ to get that SOB out of my garage. So I put a battery, good fuel and a master cylinder in it and went home and sold my 2 year old diesel 4x4. I love it and since I was given another 1998 D1this on is a parts car mine had 75k when I got it.

I bought a '95 with ARB lockers and bumper and air system with air tank, safari roof rack, Warn winch, GBR 4.75 ring and pinion and drive shafts for $3200. Then bought a '00 with 76k miles for $2200. I swapped out everything from the 95' and sold it for $1750. By my calculation if I bought all the parts new I would be into it for about $5k. So I was about $1800 ahead when I bought the '95. After the parts swap and the resale of the '95 I'm into a 2000 Disco II with 76k miles, with ARB lockers front and back, on-board air system, ARB bumper, 8k Warn winch, GRB ring and pinion and driveshafts and safari roof rack for about $1350. Worked out ok. By the way if anyone's interested in the 4.75's I'd swap for something a little more road trip friendly.

$18500. Bought in March 2000. 1997 Lease Return with 25000 miles on it. Needed a bigger ride for my then pregnant wife. Took it home, ripped off the front air dam, trimmed the front bumper end caps, slapped on a 2" OME lift and 235/85's, and drove the hell out of it.

150k plus miles later its ugly, but we love it. Off-roaded all over California and Arizona. Lots of road trips and camping. Paint is trashed from 19 years of living next to a freeway and never being under cover. In 3 car accidents because my wife likes to hit other cars so it's now a salvage title after I bought it back from the insurance company. Has been reliable and good to us. Son came home from the hospital in it when born and now drives it to school.
