Default How to test Crank Sensor and wires???

I think i might have a bad crank sensor, my truck wont start just turns over. Im getting fuel and spark. I swapped out the crank sensor cause i had a spare but no difference... I noticed when i took the plug off the crank sensor that the two wires were completely bare for about an inch and were touching each other.. looks like they were taped seperatly and once they got wet the tape slid up the wire exposing both bare wires... I taped them good and now they are fine.. Would the touching of the two wires cause anything? How can i test with a voltmeter at the end up the plug to make sure its working properly?

The wires should be rewrapped. As for needing a new sensor, if you are getting fuel and spark, then there is something else wrong with your truck.
