Default Hub Aligner/Drive Plate Torque and Loctite

I'm reassembling the hub aligner and drive plate to my rebuilt engine. RAVE specifies 85 Nm for the hub aligner and 45 Nm for the drive plate bolts. It does not specify loctite on either bolt set's threads.

However, I doubt these specifications because I vaguely remember a technical service bulletin stating that the bolts should either be torqued more or loctite-d. It had something to do with them coming loose and causing vibrations at certain speeds followed by some sort of failure. I also doubt it because the bolts were loctited when I removed them.

Here's page from overhaul manual - unless you can locate a TSB, I would go with these. Loctite comes in a variety of color (and strengths) - and it is used on all sorts of things that people want to keep snugged up. So you should be OK to put it here, but don't use the very strong stuff.

You can always look at a bolt torque chart to see what is specified for the size bolts they are. You'll have to know what class (or grade if they are SAE) they are.

Well, I ended up using medium strength loctite just in case. I never could find that TSB. Maybe it was for a different model.
