Default I just want to vent

Thought I had a water pump leak in the rover. Ordered parts. Got stoked on a little Saturday project. Closer inspection = front cover also blew a hole too. Not prepared for that. Been reading RAVE (which I believe oversimplifies this process) and searching up some threads here. Sounds like it's a do-able project, but requires much more parts and time than I'd initially thought.

Who wants to come to Colorado and do this for... i mean... WITH me?!

Should do a bunch of stuff along with it, yeah? Got about 140k on the clock. Otherwise running pretty good.

If I had the money, I'd gladly drive out to CO to help out. I was born there and miss the mountains...

I would do the oil pump, timing gears along with a new chain, and oil pressure sending unit. If you have any questions just ask I just finished mine a few months ago.

Thanks for the help!

What kind of price am I looking at for all that? I haven't really started searching for the extra parts. How long do you think it'd take? I've got fairly good wrenching skills, but never done this on a D1 before.

at Atlantic British you would need part # 9009A $110, part #STC4104 $8, part #8979 $100, and from lrdirect part #ERR6438 $260. I just used these sites for part #'s and price I would check out lucky8llc, rovahfarm, contact Paul (for the front cover) first before getting parts.

I would say a good full day of work and you will have it all in.

Oh. My bad... the cover doesn't have a hole in it. I think it's just the gasket. It's leaking visibly right between the red arrows here.
