The truck runs really well except for the idle thing. It sat 3 weeks in my driveway and started right up without any problem. It is unlikely it will need to be reprogrammed. When I cleaned the IACV on my truck I noticed the tip of the plunger has scuff marks from rubbing on the plenum. I did a little research and found this:

So I'll try the NAPA replacement. I remember reading a post on this board the 4.0L Jeep one doesn't work, unless someone is using one right now and can chime in to confirm it works.

Definitly not being a nay-sayer, but don't bank on that too much. Unless the replacement part's plunger is in the exact( or darn close) spot as the old, it will not function correct.

When I replaced mine, the dealer said it should adjust itself after a bunch of drive cycles. Never did. They didn't have to reprogram anything, what they do is hook it up to theit testbook and clear all the adaptive memory's. Of course for the bargin price of a $100 and change for 15 min's of work. Has run/idled like a champ ever since.

Bad news. My truck had a second episode of not starting once warmed up today. Both times when it happened it was after if fuel up after a short drive. Maybe this is more than a simple coincidence?

Without going back and reading everything have you replaced the fuel temp sensor?

Not yet. I trying to figure out what's wrong before replacing anything. I'm a student and money is a little tight. I still have to find some time to check sensors with a multimeter, school and my house renovations keep me pretty busy.

Usually a hot no start is a fuel temp sensor issue.

So I was stalking on the thread and I realized I have the opposite problem haha. She starts up fine, but when it is cold I realize she idles from 750-1000. And you can hear the diff. Also when I press on the accelerator it sounds like she lost power for a second than regains it. I'll check this afternoon after school also to be sure. But would that mean I should clean my IACV?

If not already done this something you should try. It costs nothing, be careful not to move the plunger on the IACV.

It's connected to the plenum chamber right? I haven't gotten a chance to look at the RAVE yet. What do I need some carb cleaner and a rag? New seal/gasket?
