Install of the $232.00

Mr. George, that 172 seems like it was still warming up, I drove my D1 up and back to the medical college in downtown Augusta last Friday, and I was 180-183 all the way on the pig trails between us. If staying that far below 180F when warmed up, would suspect that stat may have slipped down when being installed, leaving a 1/4 moon space at the top.

George had lots of satisfied customer testimonials on his site.
The true test will take time and empirical data to see the demostarted reliability of the product. Gotta run up some hours of use on those samples. The more samples the better.
Hopefully the plastic is robust enough to handle the environmental extremes it will see.

Well the business has been around for almost 50 years so it has had it's test by fire MANY TIMES
Now for the drive report you have been waiting for
1. Distance was 126 miles round trip
2. 1st leg was on I 20 to Rt 6 and Lexington S.C.
Outside was 96 deg. BOTH a/c units ON with 485 lbs of cargo (orders) going to Fed Ex
Highway was 75 mph and 195 deg, Traffic got it up to 210 when we sat and WAITED for over 5 min for an idiot to turn his boat which he then got stuck in the ditch. So when it was shutdown at Fed Ex it was 212 outside temp was 98 deg.
3. 2nd leg all back roads with speeds from stopped to 60.
4. Temp when restarted at Fed Ex was 189 deg, drove on I26 and it was from 194 to 199. back roads the outside temp was now about 89 deg. we got to the easy part of eh drive and teh temp DROPPED to 179 to 181 depending on coasting or climbing.
I would say this was a worth it for the money repair BUT I think the REAL key was the water pump change ALONG with the radiator.
We are going to Florida with it this weekend so that should see how toasty it will get.
You all know if you call us for leather restoration products and mention the forum you do get SPECIAL prices.
