Knock sensor unplugged...should I worry?
Hi guys. While under my Landy this weekend changing out a crankshaft position sensor, I noticed that the knock sensor on the side of the block was unplugged. It had to have been this way for years by the look of it. So, do I plug it back in? I've owned it since 2008 and I have to assume it's always been unplugged. What might I have been missing out on performance-wise these last few years while it's been unplugged?
Thanks!
Thanks!

The one that was plugged in would keep spark timing in tune enough you probably wouldn't even notice a difference. Obviously there's one for each bank of cylinders but I can't imagine the ECU is that unsophisticated it offs the timing on one side and maintains the other side, the engine wouldn't run well. Yeah I would plug it back in. Post if you feel or hear a difference, curious.
Thanks, I appreciate it. I plugged it in and cannot really notice a difference. I didn't realize there was one on the other side as well, I need to check it and see if it is plugged up.
