Knocking from brakes

Default Knocking from brakes

This is weird...I just did a brake service...and now I started a knocking sound but if i press the brake even a little it stops completely...everything was torqued down to spec so i have no clue what can cuase this

So, tear it down and see what you did wrong.

Just pads or rotors too? If you replaced the rotors also, could be in the hub/bearing.

Does it make the sound all the time when driving or just over bumps?

In mine the brake pad backing was "floating" and slamming onto the caliper housing. The pad was lifted by a sticky section of the rotor and hit the upper side and fall back and hit again wearing out a groove. the fix was to replace the whole caliper. yeah right!
I now insert a tiny spacer in between and the knocking is gone

Look at the brake pads to see if they "float" up and down. the new pads might be a tiny smaller.

If they float, I'll draw a picture of the spacer

new bearings..yes it does it all the time below 50mph...i got new bearings and all..ill check the pads..i did have one piston that was frozen..i wonder if that is sticking
