Talk to slanginsanjuan, and AKDisko. Yeah it will look fine, trimming will be very minimal (AKDisco claims he was able to make the tires contact just barely while flexing).

235/85s will look better, just sayin.

That's what I needed to know, thanks! It's all about looks vs functionality for me. I don't go to Moab or anything crazy where I need bigger better tires and stuff :P

I have 31x10.5's (almost the same as 265/75/R16) on a 2" lift.

I havent driven it too much, but I dont think Ill have to trim. If I do, it would be pretty minor.

Any larger-than-stock tire will kill your already pathetic gas mileage. So if it's all about looks get used to shelling out cash. I use my 235/85s for crawling and all sorts of trails, they would be fine for huge sections of Moab. Nothing like Jake's 35s but he's put a lot more time and money into his truck than I have.

Here's the stance with 235/85s, mild camel cut, and a 2" lift. This was before my new bumper:

I swear we've been over this before, you still haven't bought your tires?

No, 31x10.50s are much closer to 265/70-R16s. A 265/75 translates to a solid 32x10.50. You have 15" rims???

Trust me, 265/75s and 235/85s both have the potential to mangle your body work. I'd be cautious with anything in the 31 range as well if you aren't trimming.

Mountain Goat, What do you think about those KM2's? I have had KM1's and TrXus MT's on previous trucks and I am trying to figure out what to go with on the Disco (lift goes on this weekend, so I plan to have new tires by next weekend).

They are one of the best tires I've had. Quiet for a mud tire on the freeway, they air down nicely, clear out well, handle snow and ice comfortably, won't hydroplane, grip well enough for mild rock crawling, seem to be wearing well after 1500 miles, and look sexy the whole time too.

I'd also recommend looking at the Firestone Destination M/T, that's my other favorite tire. But yeah I love my KM2s, so far I'd definitely buy them again. I highly prefer them over the BFG TA/KOs I've had, which tended to hydroplane and fill up with mud/snow pretty easily.

I know it sounds silly, but I don't like the tread pattern of the KM2 (not a deal breaker, just a cosmetic thing). I liked the look of the KM1, but not the KM2. I have been considering the Destination M/T as well (it reminds me of the KM1). The TrXus MT is $40 cheaper per tire though...but not enough people use them to form a proper opinion (although people tend to love Super Swampers, which are made by the same company).

BTW, sorry for the thread jack.

Dont hate my tires still have tread on them. Working minimum wage and going to high school it takes awhile to save up! :P
