Last issue on my disco, taking it in for a bang when going in reverse..
Well after skinning my middle knuckle ( and giving the damn e brake drum said finger for making me scrape my hand multiple times trying to get that filler plug out) and putting everything in, I'm at a loss of how to get that filler plug out. It doesn't seem rusted on but it will not budge. I couldn't find my 1/2" ratchet so i went and bought one with a two inch extender that fits well, but I can't get the plug to move. I had to kind of chisel it in, it was kind of caked with gunk, but now I can't get it to budge. No joke, I started thinking that maybe the old lefty loosey didn't apply here.
How do you all get the gunk off these things? Can I just blast that area with a little carb cleaner using the red mini tube or is there something else that can be done?

Blast it with carb cleaner to clean it up, then hit it with a penatrant, like Liquid Wrench.
DO NOT DRAIN THE T-CASE UNTIL YOU GET THE FILL PLUG OUT!!!!
Also becareful not to strip the t-case housing, many have broken the t-case by putting to much force on the fill plug.
And yes, left loosey righty tighty.

You are loosing torque by using the extension.
You can stick your ratchet in there, just move the parking brake cable out of the way by pulling it toward you, it works best if you run the ratchet handle down from the top.
If it has never been removed or has not been removed for a very long time it will be corroded in place, think of it as being rusted in place, only its aluminum so it wont rust, but corrosion is the same thing, only different, but its the same, make sense?
Keep hitting it with the pen/lube and trying to break it free.
Tap it with a small hammer to help work the pen/lube into the threads.
You may want to heat up the plug alittle with a propane torch if it continues to be stubborn.
