i understand the budget thing (not as well as my wife would like me to), try calling lucky8 and saying i want the lift and lines from you, but AB has this cheaper, and RN has this price, what can you do for me? Cant hurt right? call all thre and play them against themselves

 

When I first got mine, it was sagging badly but I did not realize just how bad until I parked in between two other Disco's after going on a trail ride. One was a stock Disco that had good springs and shocks and the second Disco had a 2 inch lift.

One of the guys even asked if I had done something to minbe to lower it.
I definitely had a tougher time on the trail than either one of them had. I was dragging in a few spots and ripped one of the running boards off, but the frames on them is flimsy and had rusted badly, so I soon jerked the other side off as well.

As far as trying to run plus 2 inch shocks with the standard (most likely sagging as well) springs, I sincerely doubt that you could even install such a mismatch.

Does Paul Grant or Will Tillery have any good spring and shock sets? I know Paul has been on here lately, but I think you would have to call Will toi see if he has any. I don't know if either one of them even fools with shocks and springs but they may have some on hand.

You could also check with RovahFarm. I bought the ProComp plus two shocks from RN. They have been fine, but I know Disco Mike has mad comments saying they are junk. I don't off-road much and when I do I take it pretty easy as well, but mine have held up fine at about 3 years or more since I put them on.

 

you might try Britishpacific.com , I've found their Terrafirma prices to be quite reasonable.

 

Just dont rush into anything, one step at a time. Do your research before you buy that TerraFirma lift - mixed results. Good luck.

PS: If I were you I'd go with the new brake lines first!

 

is the OME setup preferred? or has there been "mixed results" with that as well?

OME is expensive but generally considered the best/most reliable.

 

My vote is OME or Rovetym springs, Im not sold on TF yet but they havent been out long enough to proove themselves yet.

I heard that Old Man Emu is an excellent choice for suspension parts, especially the new sport edition. Personally I'd say up my money for the OEM or the Old Man Emu - that way you know your getting a top of the line part worth every penny. I think TF is over-rated anyways :S
