Default light switch/ turn signal lever replacement

After not having any issues for a very long time, I go out this morning to warm her up before I head to work and notice no lights on the center section of dash. turned switch back one click and they come on, turn head lights back on they go out. at the time didnt even notice my guage cluster lights were out as well. if I am very careful, I can get them on by turning it back slighty between the head light/ parking light position. Has anyone replaced the turn signal arm on theirs and how much of a pain if any is it. Gonna try to find one today and get it ordered before I leave work.

Turn signal(also headlight) stalk is a common failure. Replacing is easy. There's probably a write-up on it here if you search.

Disconnect the battery-both terminals
Remove the two piece steering column cover (3 Phillips screws underneath)
Remove airbag - 2 T27 screws behind the wheel
Disconnect red plug from back of airbag
Remove steering wheel (19mm nut)
There is one Phillips screw holding the switch assembly on at 6 o'clock, do not remove the screw, just loosen until you can get the light assembly to move, then pull straight back to remove.
Unplug the four electrical connectors from the switch.
Reverse to reassemble

BTW, get a new switch now. Mine lasted about a week after I took it apart because it was acting just like yours. One day, I had no lights no matter how I turned the switch.

To replace STC4017 Land Rover Turn Signal / Headlights Switch (Part # STC4017) you don't need to remove the steering wheel. RAVE makes this repair way harder than it is.
Looks like this( I know vid says DII, but same deal).....

I was assuming a complete replacement of the headlight/wiper switch assembly. It only takes less than 10 minutes to replace the entire unit with removing the wheel.

You have to pull until it lets go, you will think you broke it. You can also get a pry bar behind it and gently wedge it out.
