Which line vents the gas tank when adding Gasoline
This used to happen once in a while, now almost all the time, fueling 98 Disc, gas pump keeps kicking off. There are a few lines on the Disc, to canister to engine, etc. Is the actual vent line in the fuel filler neck or the pig tail
coming out on the top side of the tank? I even disconnected that today and still gas regurgitates and the gas pump cuts off.
I read something on that but there were no pictures. I have the one in the 2nd foto for sure, square canister.
Now I just need to get my buns in gear and work on this thing. Last 3 times I got gas the pump kept shutting off. It only did it maybe once every 10 fillings before. I don't drive it that much so really was no hassle then, but every time now, a pain in the butt.
The 3 videos are good, gives me an idea what I'm going to get into. What I noticed is that flap just inside the filler neck (and D1 manual hints at it) pushes against the trickle valve when the nozzle is inserted which pushes the flap against the plunger of the trickle valve.
You can feel that when you push down on it with your finger. Caution, don't let your finger get under that flap, have a long screwdriver in hand if you do.
