Nope. CT's whole nutha animal and much rarer in any kind of shape and they're numbered factory examples as well but more ruggedly equipped (full roll cage and roof rack bolted to it, winch equipped) than the XD and used diesel engines exclusively due to fuel availability where the competitions where held. The 96/97 XD was a NAS spec'd, gasoline engined dealer marketing tool to draw customers into the showrooms. Some XD's stickered with the Trek decals where for inter-dealer competitions. Painted in AA Yellow with black stickers and wheels. The CT trucks although nearly stock where equipped for expedition competition, the XD's not although they where claimed to be expedition "ready". Really just ordinary yellow Discos with bolt ons to simulate the LR CT heritage. When you see both side by side the XD's bolt ons look very lightweight in comparison to the CT's.

I got your back, besties.......

It's all Walt's fault.

Interesting (for me) to compare em side by side though, never really looked at em like that and was kinda disappointed to see the XD looking like chicken fence compared to a brick wall. The CT's are solid, purpose built trucks whereas the XD's look like nothing more than eye candy (fugly too). What I didn't know was the Trek trucks (XD's) had been NAS LR dealer competition vehicles that competed with one another stateside. I'd seen a few on the forums but never knew the background, went all the way into the DII's, the Kalahari's.

If I was to find a decent XD (with all it's original bolt ons) I'd buy it because it's different, nostalgic, but not better.
