Thanks for all of the advice, really is a great resource and I'm pretty sure I will find a good truck, whether it's this one or another. And if not I'll be able to deal with it for sure.

If you have a scanner, bring it and use it. Nobody should get offended. Leave it plugged in for your test drive so you can watch engine temperature.

If any seller does get offended by a scanner, that's a BIG red flag and you should walk away.
