LT1 6.2L Engine Swap or LS3 6.2L Swap
Hey everyone, I am located here in California, which is everyone's favorite state to do engine swaps in, and I recently acquired a Landrover Discovery 1 SE7. Regardless of "If it is worth it", I am looking for any issues in transplanting an LT1 engine and transmission into my discovery. Originally, I was going to transplant an LS3, but with the greater MPG and torque curve offered by the LT1, it seems like a no-brainer if the e-rod systems are the same price.
With a more advance engine such as the LT1 and 4L70-E transmission, are there additional technical issues I am not accounting for?
I am using a compushift module for the transmission translation, and am planning on aftermarket drive shafts.
Everything else seems pretty straight forward? The engine and transmission sizes are the same size, just 'better'. The engine height may be an issue, but this can be resolved with adjustable engine mounts or a modification to the hood.
