Here's a quick look on how to fill your swivel ***** with grease.

please note if you do a lot of wading this could be problematic as the grease does not drain out as easy as the oil.

Well, the later D1's came from the factory with grease and don't have drain plugs, so you're sort of screwed anyway.
Of course, you can drill and tap for a drain plug then use gear lube.

I have a 94 D1, so I have the fill & drain plugs. I'm happily running 75-140 synthetic gear oil.
