Default Manually lower power seats?

My electronics on my power seats are on the fritz, does anyone know how to adjust them manually? The passenger seat is really high.. someone might fall out the window.

I don't know the answer to your direct question, but I've taken apart and cleaned the contacts in the switches which control the seats.

If you do attempt it, work on a baking/cookie sheet so when the little ball bearings and springs roll away they don't fall to the floor.

There is no way to manually lower your seats, so better get started on your electrical issue.

Sure there is. I've done it. Remove the connector from the switches. Look up the pinout in the ETM and connect the appropriate pins. You'll need two short pieces of wire. Otherwise you may be able to disconnect the height motor and spin the drive line with a drill.

check the fuse for your cigg lighter. My seats were acting up in my 97 and i was confused untill i found out that the fuse for the cigg lighter also provides power to the seats.

All of the above work, and the seat motors have a drive cable like an old school speedometer cable . If you can't find a ragged out seat at the junk yard (to rob motors from), you can use a battery drill and spin that drive cable to a desired spot. Certainly check all the electrical first.

If any switch works well, you can swap it into the driver's seat and try that.

Replacement switches are expensive if you buy new on the other hand a few bucks at a pick & pay or reasonable from recyclers.

I little contact cleaner spray can also work wonders for a few bucks. Even PB Blaster, WD40 or similar will work. CRC contact spray evaporates and leaves no residue.
