Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor
Gents,
Figured I would post this cause I'm sure it will help someone. For a while I've been looking for a solution to my throttle response issue. Upon heavy acceleration my power seemed to flat line about 2500 rpm and the pickup again at 3000 and then die again around 3500. These trucks aren't meant for heavy acceleration so I wasn't worried about it but it still kinda bugged me. I've long suspect the MAF (was still running the OEM after 170k) but couldn't justify a new OEM replacement at the price these go for given it was such a minor issue. Decided to take a chance on a EBay knockoff for $80 and I'm happy to report my problem is solved. Nice steady acceleration through the rpm band with a noticeable increase in power. Even though I tried cleaning the original per instructions found on this forum it made no difference. A new one was what it needed. I've seen mixed reviews about the EBay MAfs but no certain feedback. I wanted to offer this to the forum. So here you go: I've had no problems with mine.

I got one from Foreverrunauto on ebay for $80.74, replaced original with 190,000 miles on it and noticed definate improvement in throttle response and I think overall power. Saved the old one just in case, but definately seems to be an improvement.
I just ordered one and it came to $54.88
My 95 has always had bad throttle
response. Just recently it will hardly start and runs horribly. No check engine
light is on so far. I parked it and just ordered this MAF so hopefully I'll be up
and running soon.
