Master brake cylinder replacement?
Hi all, after having searched online for an answer and not finding proper info/videos, I have to ask:
Just found out I have a leaking master cylinder on my 97 D1 XD, it is coming from the rubber seals holding the reservoir to the cylinder. Just received the new master cylinder from Brit Parts and need to know the proper procedure for replacement and bleeding of it.
Some say you can bleed it right after installation by pumping the pedal and bleeding at the 2 brake lines inderneath the reservoir, others say you have to bench bleed. Which is it?
I downloaded the link for RAVE manual but I am unable to open the zip file on my Mac!
Since I do not have the software nor the diagnostic tool that has been mentioned, the easiest hands on single person procedure is what I am looking for.
Thinking of buying the hand pump thingy at Harbor Freight, since I have bled the brakes the old fashioned way but would like to try the suction method.
Thank you for your opinions and advice.
