Question From motor to manual seats.

Here I am again. I need some advice or help. I tried looking for a response but didnt get one back.
So I am having trouble with the seats. both driver and passenger. The motor has worked a few times but now it completely gave up. I have been thinking about just removing the motor seats and just making them manual. I need to see what options I have because I need to be comfortable when I drive and its too far from the pedal I am only 5'4 so I worry.
What are some of the pros and cons with this change? What should I do keep them with the motor? Would it be a difficult task? If anyone has done this was it worth making the change? Please help I need the opinion of people that understand me.

As a 22 year old female I need advice because even though I do my mechanical stuff under the hood electronical uuummmm is my least favorite Now dont judge I still have more to learn, I will not give up!

Usually it's the switches that fail, not the motors, but not always. You could just get them in a comfortable position and forget about moving them later. If only the driver/passenger side switch works you can switch them to get the seats where you want. You could also try removing the motors and spinning the drive cables by hand. You could swap in some (96+) manual seats if you can find them. Finally, if the motors work fine you could wire up your own switches.

Thank you. I guess I hadn't thought of that. I will just switch, position, and leave it :-) just wanted some ideas of what I shall do. Tomorrow I will look into that.

Squirt some WD40 in the switches and work them back and forth. Bet you'll have working switches again.

If you decide to dismantle switch do so inside a big bowl, lots of ball bearings, they allow switch to rock.
