Good to know for future reference. I wasn’t in a spot to stomach the cost for the Allisport at the time. We’ll see what happens with the Nissens. I was hoping to “split the difference” some with the metal radiator Atlantic British had… but they were out of stock over the summer. I did buy the Nissens from FCP so at least they have a lifetime warranty. The absolute hottest I’ve seen my Disco at with the AC going at idle in the summer has been 204° which is wonderful in my book.

One friend had bought his Nissens from Rock Auto and when the first one died they sent him a replacement (sprung a leak 2 months after he got it). They sent him another one, and in about 6 months it failed again. When he asked for another one they no longer stocked the Nissens for a RRC/D1 so he was refunded his $$$. That left him looking all over for a radiator and he finally just found a good OEM unit and stuck it in. The other thing to look out for on the Nissens = the lower elbow which is secured to the tank with 2 bolts and is sealed with an O-Ring. When it goes from summer to winter they're famous for seeping at that seal. You can tighten up the bolts, but eventually the elbow itself will slightly bend and it'll just leak whenever it wants. If it's garage kept that doesn't seem to be as big of an issue vs being parked outside. So knowing all that will save you time and trouble in the future I hope. Because I nearly missed an off road event due to the Nissens dying and NO warranty replacement was available.
Nice looking rig! I just dug out my 1999 D1 after a 8 month sleep. My kid took my daily driver (2006 HHR) so I have to drive the D1 (awww) For sure my next project will be to re-mount the drivers seat back about 4" so I have more leg room. The main thing I miss is the legroom in my HHR.

Very nice! Man, you can't go wrong with that green color.
