Default disco2 4.9 needs help

hay all!
I'm new to the group and new to the lr community. I just purchased a 2003 land rover discovery for what I thought was a good deal at $600. ok so the story goes as this, I got it from an auction never seeing it with no info on it just as a side project, after towing it home and charging the battery ive come up with this,# 1&3 plugs were missing so I ran my scope in the cylinders and found moisture on the pistons and the walls looked to be ok, put the plugs in and fired it up, big surprise it ran like crap with trouble codes for #1&3 cylinder and a p1300 & p1319, also after a min or two of running the oil light came on. I pulled 1 and 3 plug and they were wet. Aside from the miss the engine doesn't sound like its got much nocking, so heres my plan. im thinking the pump is on its way out and their has to be something in the head/ gasket that's causing the miss, I do have oil seeping out between the head and block. so I plan on taking the heads off and depending on what I find replacing the pump at the same time, the body has 167000 miles on it and with what I've read about these engines I wouldn't think the engine has that, any advise or thoughts would be appreciated, thanks guys

The RAVE is the factory shop manual set and companion for such work. Free download below. Oil PSI shoul be 50 PSI at rpm and above 10 at idle warmed up. So light on is under 7 PSI, and serious. Might have who knows what oil in there, so an oil change and fiilter change and mechanical oil PSI test (remove the oil PSI switch) - maybe one less problem.

Oil leaks high up are more common to be valve covers, snug up with 8mm 12 point skinny sockets.

Head gasket set and new bolts are $150 - $200 depending on source. Front cover and oil pump set is about $114, timing chain more. While oil pan is off you can look at main bearinsg, we have a replace in the truck article in our tech area.
