D1s bring large sums of money? Lol. Just kidding, that really sucks. You did a great job on that truck.

Sorry to hear. She'll probably start acting a fool for the new guy and come crawling back, down the road
X2 on the good work, and I hope all works out

Now that's funny right there. Nah me and the woman are great. It's the kids that I had to spend on. Projects take a back burner to the kiddies.

The thought of starting all over on another one is really not appealing right now. Starting at the top of Mikes list and doing the lift and fixing all the BS problems. ..all the preventive maintenance...The CDL linkage and solenoid. .removing the console. Cleaning cleaning cleaning. Swivel Ball rebuild. Fluids flushes...ugh. Yuk. Maybe I'm just sour.

I got my truck back. The guy I sold it to took the rack and bumper and ultragauge and some parts I had for a nicer lower miles D2. He drove it home and parked it. It's exactly how I left it.
After washing the dust off I think the coil got wet and it barely ran at all on the way home. Today I WD-40 on all the wires and coil itself. Took all the wires off and let it all dry. Test drive confirms it runs great again.
My plan is to keep going where I left off. I'm going to do another coolant flush just in case as well. Later I'll probably get another rack and winch bumper. I have a winch ready to go.
I still have the same goals in mind as before. This was an awesome score for me. I regretted selling that truck the day I did it. Now I have a second chance to keep going. And as a bonus he never did a thing with it so I don't have to go behind him and re fix it.

Great read! Awesome story. I'm so glad you got it back. Maybe refrain from wasted money on rack and bumper.

Shift is a full on addict. He has bought, built and sold more Discoverys than most of us see in a month.

I have an '04 that he redid and built. I have no complaints.

I wanted to buy a second one off him but didn't have the funds when the white D1 came up for sale.

Stupid Photobucket ruined this thread. Grrr

Hahah. Guilty. This was a true Resurrection of an old thread. Memories. Lol. I think I've owned about 15 trucks since. Haha This truck got sold again when I found my blue classic. The couple that bought it still drive it. I see it out at Red Rock state park every once in a while.

That white D1 was super sweet. Too nice for me. I don't regret selling it. It went to a good home. I would have just ruined it.
