I wanted to add the reason I'm considering small is only because it's a land rover.

Land Rovers are not supposed to have that jacked look. There to have an elegance about them that'll make you think
It's not THAT capable but prove you wrong on the trail. If it were any other vehicle jeep or 4runner then yes bigger is better and so is hitting the obstacles faster and harder. The way a stock land rover simply climbs over it's insights slowly and gracefully is what makes it land rover.

Again I'm not saying I don't like these tires. I'm just typing this for others who may b trying to decide.

Tires are definitely huge, no doubt there. Looks like you may end up cutting the rear of the front fender even with the body lift for articulation without cutting up your tires.

I THINK there going to befine because there shinnies. If they were wider
Or If I had wheel spacers they would rub. But due to the axle flex following a radius from the center they are "pulled" in just before they hit.

im still torn between the two.. I love the proformance of these tires, I just feel they are quite big for a DD. Im hesitant on ordering my full size spare because 235/85 is still an option. Heres my take on it.

235/70 Small [Too Small]
235/85 Medium Normal [What is should come with]
255/85 Large

I couldn't imagine anything bigger. I like the tires size im just what, iffing. I CAN NOT GET STUCK. and this part I love. I tried my hardest. But cannot make it happen no matter how slow I go lol.

Anyways my advice to anyone go 235/85 if you want best overall,
Go 255/85 if you want BIG.

The discovery CAN look awkward with tires this big, Its now obvious it doesn't need super sized tires.

YUP, Because...

1. not as tall and not as much lift required means you and your girlfriend especially dont have to JUMP to get in it.

2. slightly better road manners

3. better acceleration less wear on driveline

4. less lift required, lower COG

Only downside is axle clearance, all the lift in the world is worth nothing if your axle is on the ground. and Sometimes skinny is not best!

How about 215/85R16? I got a set sitting here, brand new Dunlop Rover A/T. They were free(can't argue with that). About 1 inch taller than stock. centimeter narrower than stock.
