Default need for spring cones?

OK I have a set of 2" lowered shock mounts coming, should I also buy relocation cones?

Do not rock crawl but I like climbing hills, dirt piles etc plus never know what is in the puddles like a big hole or deep ruts

Still run the rear sway for now

Is your truck lifted?

And if you're running the sway still then definitely not

Install your lowered mounts and run the truck. If your spring pops out, install cones.

If you end up making/buying cones I would stay clear of the RTE ones. Normally RTE is top notch but they missed the mark on their cones; poor design. I have seen more springs fail to reseat using RTE cones than any other brand/design. The RTE cones are too long and not tapered enough. If the springs drops far enough and comes off the cone it is almost certain to not reseat. I would recommend an inverse cone that mounts on the axle. I run the QT ones and they've been great.

I like the inverse(bottom) cones myself. I have a few different friends that run different variations of inverse cones and all like them.
Take a look at the RTE cones, how tall and not tapered they are. In my opinion a shorter cone that comes to a point gives the spring the best chance of relocating properly.
