Never again
I thought it was a pain but I'd still rather change O2 sensors on my rover than the stupid crank position sensor I had to change on my old Jeep 4.0L or the knock sensor on my old Toyota 3VZE v6 my 2nd gen forerunner had. So far I think the Rover has been a dream to work on and i've been doing misc jobs to it since Jan when I bought it.
Pay me! All my truck has is 02 sensor problems, i feel like i've changed em so many times i could probably do it next time with telepathy and not actually touch em. o2 sensors and starters i can officially do in my sleep. Its NOT something im proud of. They're tricky though. And if i weren't so fed up everytime i got them off thier clips, the smart me would splice the harnesses and move them further up the firewall away from the bell housing. But everytime i get to that stage i just want to be DONE with em.
Perseverance my dear friend!

I got some cold beer if you wanna come out an do mine I'll be nice an even let you use the lift
Haha. A lift! That's definitely cheating. Brian, if you lived a lite closer or I found myself out that way anymore often I'd be happy to do em. But judging by your truck I'm willing to bet you're more than capable enough. Haha. mark your calendar for possible rausch creek 7/23-24. Course it'll be rookie stuff to your rig

Maybe ill get the red one legal and take it up. Yeah I got really bored sitting at home and it flexes like crazy now but id need to trailer it now. But if I have my license back and im home ill come up.
Cosmo: That really makes me want a 95.
Long Haul: You lost your license?
Spike: So you assumed the Water Buffalo Mating Position over the engine, makes you wish you had a hoist with a sling you could hang from.
I am 6' 1" and I could not rach them, but rather than mount the beast again, I stacked up Belgian blocks and laid a 2 by 12 across them to act as a walk board.
At the right height, I could stand on the board, bend under the hood and get to it all quite well. I wish the hood was simpler to remove or hinged in the center like some of the early English Automobiles used to.
I was seriously considering remounting the coil packs in a more accessable area. Like beside the intake rotated 90 degrees.
It would be nice to weld some square tubing on the frame so that you could hang a maintenance platform on the side to work from. Some of you more ambitious welding/mecanical wizards should ome up with a simple design to accomplish that.

I did not have any O2 codes, just a ever so slight rough idle when hot, like coming off the expressway on my way home from work.
Lower MPG than normal too, I dont actually check my MPG anymore, but I know how much gas I should use in a week.
I bought the truck with 152,change and I never changed the O2's until now, so as far as I know they were original.
The tips of them were white, other than that nothing out of the ordinary.
The new ones came with crush washers which I had to remove.
I did not totally remove the coil pack, just unbolted it and lifted it up as far as I could with the plug wires still connected.
My 3 yr old son was helping and he lost one of the nuts that holds the coil on, but I found it laying in the driveway today after I got home from work.
I def have more power now.
I did not start the truck last night after the work was done, and of course she fired right up first tap of the key this morning.
And she purred right along on the expressway at the break neck speed of 65.
Filled her up tonight on my way home, wrote down the mileage and we will see this weekend what kind of MPG I get.
I've got roughly 800 miles to do while pulling a U-Haul to do between Sat and Sun.
I shouldn't be checking my MPG while pulling a trailer but I'm going to anyway.
