Default New Member 95 Disco Issues

I purchased a 1995 Disco from a buddy that has been sitting in a field for 10 years! It was put to green pastures due to a timing chain slip. He purchased the kit but never got to it. I have had it sitting for 2 years and finally getting to it. It has the 2 inch lift and ABS front and rear bumpers. I was thinking of making a river runner out of it but I have so many other projects and not a lot of cash. So I'm debating on selling it. Well as you can guess the rats got to the wiring... but as far as I can tell it was just under the hood and some wires under the trans. I have spliced the wires under the hood and just noticed the ones above the trans,

I'm having issues of not getting it to crank and getting it shift out of park to move it. We were able to get it out of park to trailer it to my place. I guessing it is due to connecting a battery and setting the security functions. I disconnected the linkage to the trans to move it. I need to get it to crank to swap timing gear/chain. I have done the alarm bypass on this thread:

I still cant get it out of park and no crank at the engine... Anyone have any suggestions? As, it's the 3.9 V8 and Auto trans. Thanks for any help!

When you turn the key to position 'II', do lights on the dash illuminate? If yes, have you tested the starter?

@WaltNYC I do and I can hear the click from relay in passenger side. I haven't taken the starter out or tried jumping the post. Just figured since it won't go into neutral anymore it has something to do with the security.

Interlock solenoid for shifter most likely (located on PRND321 assembly). Starter might not be getting 12v on small lead, or it could just be shot. You can always give it a good tap with a hammer. If you had alarm/immobilizer issues you would have a red light going nuts by the radio and the engine would turn over but not fire.

@Best4x4
You just reminded me about a question. Does the factory radio have to be connected? It was connected but i disconnected it because it didnt seem to be working. I know most vehicles have some programming in them.

I am able to crank it now with a remote trigger but still need to figure out why it won't from the key...

Radio does require a code to work, but it isn't connected to the security system. Radio has it's own little red LED.
