Default new p0300 code after plug change

96 discovery se with 170k. change plugs over the weekend and found multiple loose plugs and really bad gaps.

Changed all plugs with champion copper with gap of .030.

This morning had really bad miss and felt like it was running on 5-6 cylinders when trying to accelerate. Idles smooth but does not like to climb hills.

Check codes and got p0300.

Ordered wires this am. What else should I check?

I'd start by gapping your plugs correctly. The RAVE manual recommends .033" to .038". I usually gap mine around .040"; bigger spark but shorter plug life.

I'll try that this afternoon.

Thanks!

checked under hood last night in the dark and found #3 wire arcing at the coil pack.

I ordered new wires yesterday and hope they will be in by the weekend to replace.

Hopefully this cures the problem.

Thanks!
