Niche 1999 Discovery Seat Question
***Update*** Corrected
i ended up gambling on the MXC7870 seat foam… it doesn’t fit. Apparently, the correct seat foam for the electric front seats for the Discovery 1’s built between 1996-1999 have the item number: AWR2118 and I’ve been told by two different suppliers that this part is obsolete. Trying to figure out if any other Land Rover seat foams are similar enough or possibly considering making my own from aftermarket foam material.

Also, that link to EXT321-4 on exmoor's site has the following text:
"Please Note: they will not fit V8’s with front seats that do not have the Grab handle incorporated into the headrest."
This implies all seat bases are not equal.

When I tried the MXC it was smaller then the seat frame and actually felt quite narrow.
I did eventually see that, however when I couldn’t find anyone selling a proper seat foam I gambled and hoped the D2 seat foam would work. (Wrong, ha)
***UPDATE***
Hey Everyone,
I eventually ended up going to a U-Pull-It yard and found a 97’ D1 that I was able to pull old seat foam from (because I stupidly threw mine away)
For the drivers seat with more wear in it I took it to a local upholstery shop. Basically, the guy took the old seat foam, cut away the portions that were failing and glued on new foam. So far this is the best solution I’ve come across and should work perfectly well.

Ive replaced and recovered both a 95 and 97 manual seats. The foam is the same. The covers are not. Only difference I saw was the pocket on the back. Its full width on 94/95 and inset on 96+. The mounts below the track are very different
No idea on electric seats interchangeability on 95 and 96. They are completely different compared to manual seats and Ive never seen an electric seat 94/95 in person.

sorry you are having so many problems - I got new seat foam last year and it fit perfectly my 96' manual cloth seats - i wonder if foam pattern has changed from suppliers ? I am sure the 99 D1 seats would be the same as 96 on - wouldn't think there is different foam for cloth and leather
