Default no crank, wont shift out of park

howdy folks

hows everyone these days

96 disco been sitting for five months waiting on funds.

completed (suspension) work, threw in a fresh battery and....nothing.

Got lights, battery is fine, but it wont come out of park, and it wont crank. Got brake lights, checked all the fuses.

When I turn the key to start, nothing dims. not the lights, nothing. doesn't make a sound. faint click from passenger footwell.

So to keep myself from dousing it with gas and lighting it up I decided to post here.

again, ran fine when i put it up. pulled the battery a week after i parked it. didnt even open the hood since then.

Anyone got any thoughts?

As to the shifter locked could be brake switch or out of adjustment. The no start sounds like immobiliser needs to be reset because it’s been sitting. There posts out there that describes the reset steps .

Keep the thread updated, want to know if the immobilizer is active cuz you probably just added the new juice without pressing the hood switch which normally sets off the blinkers and horn but I wonder?
