I bought a '98 Disco and after buying it noticed there was a steady stream of fluid coming out of the meeting point between the transfer case & transmission. I yanked out the transfer case & rebuilt that with new bearings & seals. After reinstalling it, when going to shift, I lost both Reverse & Neutral. I yanked out the shifter and went to the junkyard to get myself a new shifter solenoid as I have heard this thing getting dirty would be problematic across the board. Fired up, still no reverse nor neutral.

Any suggestions as to how I lost reverse & neutral would be greatly appreciated. I am fairly certain everything was plugged back in when I reinstalled the transfer case. The transfer case largely has nothing to do with selecting direction just following orders.

I just ordered a reverse light switch for the transmission and a new brake light switch. My brake lights do not work and I will install that this weekend and finally get that fixed.
