Default 98 Disco No Reverse & Neutral

I have a 98 Disco, 50th Anniversary edition in North America. Just recently bought. I have 21 codes that need cleared and am replacing many things on it to get there.

One of the issues I have is that I just redid the transfer case. I dropped it out and put in a new seal & bearings around the main gear that the transmission spindle goes into. After putting the transfer case back in, I lost reverse and neutral. I'm about to put another transmission in because the other transmission was probably filled with sludge. What I am wanting to know is this: With the transfer case reinstall, did I miss something, fix/break something that would lock out reverse and neutral? I don't want to put this other transmission and reinstall the transfer case and find out that there was something in the transfer case I missed that would lock out revers & neutral. The vehicle drives in Drive, 1, 2, & 3 just fine. But, when I shift into Reverse or Neutral, nothing. When I do shift into the Reverse & Neutral it feels as if there is some kind of lock on it, not that the vehicle simply will not move.

I am also wondering on the shifter where there is a locking sensor. Obviously, this is something but, my thinking on that is if that sensor went bad all the gears would not necessarily shift into.

Any thoughts are greatly appreciated.

Thanks for this. I felt like I did. But, what?
The solenoid, which I could remove/replace, is for Hi/Low. Was there something internally in the transfer case that I flipped a switch/gear and now am stuck without reverse/neutral?
All of the plugs are plugged into the transfer case. The High/Low selector is mounted properly. What else is there, or is it inside the T-Case?

You'll need to get a mechanical expert on the DI's to chime in. I'm only good for the static parts and history. Best4x4 and others can guide you.
