Default No Start- Crank Position Sensor?

Been reading that a no start (turns over but no fire) can also come from Crank Position Sensor. I got one on order. NOT CHEAP. 60ish buks.

Anyway.... mine appears to be magnetized. Least I think that is the CPS. The cap is Grey, The cap has metal shredding on it magnetized to it.

Sound normal? New one wont be here till Tues AM.

Clean off metal and put it back in engine, be sure wires for crack sensor are good

See if that helps

Does not look to be a pull off item. Looks like removal is similar to Disco 2 video here BUT they removed exhaust. Being that I don't have at present an air wrench for work Im not sure that is a viable option. Open to suggestions for access around the exhaust. Have not looked superclose to see how much a PITA that would be.

Similar location different sensor on d2 iirc

When you get the plug off can pull wires straight up from top to inspect

How do u know there is metal on the sensor if you have not pulled it?

does not make sense to me either, especially since material looks more aluminum than steel. Anyway it appears that some force such as magnification is so strong that this material it is held against the cover. Like metal flakes on a piece of paper held there by a magnet below it. Which again makes no sense......... Aluminum is not affected by magnets. Aluminum and static electricity ?

So what's happening now? I read that the new ECM/10AS didn't do squat.
