Welcome all noobs. See https://landroverforums.com/forum/di...h-miler-42471/ for 60K service items to do yourself.

Change oil earlly and often. see https://landroverforums.com/forum/di...estions-46975/

You'll notice these are from the tech sticky area, plenty more where that came from. Don't forget things under the truck, like diffs, transfer case, tranny, drive shafts, and swivels (front CVs).

Monitor fluids under the hood weekly. Don't let coolant temp get over 50% without investigation. Consider investing in an Ultra Gauge, to give digital read out of temps, and a lot more. Consider flush of radiator and renew coolant.

Download the RAVE, a factory set of manuals on the truck, at link below.

Ask lots of questions, save money, time and trouble, and have fun. Post questions in particular areas of the forum to get more answers.

If you want it to last a long time and not spend a fortune doing it you should do the following.

1. Download the RAVE, free in Savannah's signature. Buy the Ultra Guage scanner that he talked about. You will need to be able to read codes and live data inputs from sensors.
2. Stop paying others to do things like oil changes, tranny fluid changes, diff fluid changes (there are 3 diff's). And you also have a lub in the funny looking ball things by the front wheels.
3. Get a good set of spark plug wires and put in fresh plugs.
4. Read as much on here as you can.
5. put your location in your profile and maybe some other members or even a club may be nearby.
6. Learn your vehicle and get comfortable with working on it.
7. Enjoy it's capabilities, wait until you do find them out before you start throwing mods at it!

Buy a creeper and a good light and check it out front to back, top to bottom, especially underneath!

The biggest drain on the wallet is usually from paying others to do work that you can do yourself, like oil changes.

I like to use the analogy of treating her like she is a new girlfriend you just met at closing time at a wildass bar. Take a close look at her bottom to see what kinds of fluids may be leaking out of her.

If you look carefully you will see what leaks you have, which ones have been significant based upon whatever visual indications are there. If it is a total mess, get some of the cheap degreaser like Mean Green and spray everything. And you want to be careful about getting crazy with a pressure washer like the car washes have. Those pressures can create havoc getting water in places you do not need it and even damaging somethinhs if you are not very careful.

Look for excessive corrosion or damage that may need to be addressed.

How are your brakes? When were the wheel bearings last serviced? Did youy get any service records with it? Private seller or dealership? Any unusual noises?

Do you know how to engage the CDL? Do you know what a CDL is?
Are you familar with the shifting from High to LOW? Does the cdl shifter move smoothly or is it "frozen"?

Lots of pecular stuff on these that most vehicles do not have, so the more you know about your vehicle, the more you can enjoy it!

just replaced the front brakes... I bought the car from a dealer (by no means a reputable one) it was leaking P/S fluid, bottle of lucas seemed to clear that up. Like I said I changed the oil, ran a can of sea foam through the gas tank and oil. I was planning on servicing the difs and the transmission next. Im trying to get to a good baseline
