This is my first rover and I just dont know what to compare it too. I have a yj that clanks and leaks oil in the same familiar way. But this British all-wheel drive system is about as different as a plate of "bangers and Mash". Being a Camel trophy fan since I could properly operate a 5 speed, I recently said to my self "self you need a land rover discovery" 2500 clam shells later i have my self an off road legacy, oil leaks and all. I'm just starting that love-hate relation ship called "land rover", so far I'm still at the honeymoon stage. but as wedding gift I got a tool box.

I fretted over the "clunk" for a long time, changed the u joints, etc. and it's still there. I'm living with it for now (84K). Yeah, it still leaks after many hours replacing this gasket and that, but it IS British, so there probably is no stopping it 100%.

Remember, if it isn't leaking, it's probably empty.
