Default Not a Ping but a Knock.

So at low rpm from stop to light pedal, I can hear a very faint knock, seems to be coming from the drivers side, bottom of the engine, after about 20mph it goes away, prob due to other ambient noise but, wondering, cam wear? No rough idle, no smoke, exhaust leak maybe, cat?

Exhaust leak would usually sound like more of a ping/ticking sound so I don't think that would be it.

What are you running for oil? My valve train lost a few dB after I switched to Rotella 15-40.

Yah that's the next thing on my list, dropping the oil pan and changing oil. I just got my new oil drain plug from AB, the existing one is rounded off.

I have been reading a few posts from Spike though when you switch from standard to synth or rotela you need to do a gradual intro? Can't remember exactly. Also the new gaskets soak up tons of oil. I'm over thinking I'm sure.

Just pick one brand and type of oil and stick with it.
Yes the gaskets can soak up alot of oil until they get "used" to it, but once that is done you will be good to go as long as you stick with the same oil.
I use Rotella and thats what I recommend.
