Default Not starting 1997 Discovery

Bought a 97 disco from a guy and it didn’t start well it’s been sitting for about 3 yrs he said it was running before he let it site well I’m thinking it’s the fuel pump? Or relay? Or filter I’m kinda stumped about it what do think I should check first?
the pump is with Evaporative Type Fuel Delivery System

fuel pump, they die often enough some people take extras with them. That's easy to test, and if the fuel pump is not the culprit it could be loads of wrong things. hard to diagnose without a description of what its doing besides not starting. Turning over?

BEFORE YOU DO ANYTHING drop the gas tank and scrub it out with soap and water with a brush, rinse it out good and dry it out over a few hot days so no water left in it, then reinstall. Now find out if its the fuel pump, I would also replace the fuel filter because they are $5 and its a wear item. to diagnose fuel pump just check the schrader valve on the fuel rail (looks like a tire valve stem) turn the key to position 2 and you will hear the pump run, if you dont hear it running then check fuses and realys. If its running, check to see if fuel shoots out of that valve when you depress it. you can use a tire gauge to measure the pressure, should be something like 40 psi. if its lower than that you need a new pump and or a new filter. good luck!
