Odd lighting problem, 1994 D1.
OK when I put my foot on the brake the right front turn-signal illuminates.
Also, neither of the brake lights work on the back although the center-mounted brake light does work.
The only anomoly I've found is a white wire coming down from the main harness (left rear of vehicle) is broken and hanging loose. I can't find where the other end is supposed to go; that is, where it broke off from.
Oh, and when I depress the brakes I get the green 'trailer' illuminating on the dash (also with flashers). Ideas?

After checking for correct bulbs, corroded sockets or plugs in bumper lamps etc..
Go under your dashboard/glove box on the passenger side. remove the high quality
cardboard under dash panel (if it's still there). You'll see a harness that runs under
and behind the heater box/blower motor. It's got a plastic cover on it that is removable
Start from the L/S closest to the heater box and open the cover up. If you can, remove the whole cover
Inside the cover you'll see a bunch of wire (of cousre) and some connectors with terminating plugs
on them. These are the vehicles header junctions. There is a very good chance that water has leaked
into the vehicle from the blower fresh air intake into the header junction(s) causing corrosion in the junction
and your electrical weird electrical problem. If this is the case you will need to either
(a) replace the header junction(s) or
(b) repair the header junction(s)
Look for the green, or possibly gray connector in particular. but check them all they are all under that plastic cover and there are 4 or 5 of them.
Let us know what you find and we can move on from there.

Good stuff guys. This will be tackled after the lump is re-born. I may poke around with it some while machining/cleaning is underway.
My cardboard is still intact but seems to have some strange aversion to staying in place! When I peaked under there (scary) I noticed the fan bolts and thought of you SavB! Since there were plently of pine-needles, etc under the hood and the foam screen is missing I suspect you may be right. Although the fan switch is very dificult to slide...a wonky switch may be contributing to the slow speed as well. OT for this thread though.

You would be wise to replace or just at least spray contact cleaner on switch. As for the foam filter, there is a handy write up in the tech sticky for the cabin pollen filter, which uses the coarse cut-to-fit HVAC filter material. I did that, it works great. I also shaved a piece and stuffed into the fresh air intake (just below wipers and directly above fan).
